Today, we celebrate legendary Finnish architect and designer, Alvar Aalto (1898–1976). He is also well known as an academic and co-founder of Artek, whose cherished furniture and lighting remain cornerstones of Finnish and Nordic design.

From Iiittala, the most recognized item from the Alvar Aalto collection is the Aalto vase. The original 1936 collection, however,  included vases in several sizes and shapes, like the vase number 9754 and bowl 9752. which mimic the forms of the original designs but are updated slightly to conform to modern-day proportions.
