In this Franckly Friends column, we have a chat with Olavi Koponen, a Finnish architect who specializes in wood construction. We meet Koponen in one of his designs, the Villa Lena in Espoo, Finland, which exhibits his signature element – simplified beauty.

Danish brand Carl Hansen & Søn invited interior and product designer Ilse Crawford to create new colorways for the iconic Wishbone chair, which has been in production for over 70 years. In 2022, the Hans J. Wegner classic is introduced in Crawford’s modern palette inspired by the unique beauty of the Nordics.

To honor the life and work of Ricardo Bofill (1939–2022), Design Stories is remembering the renowned Spanish architect through one of his most utopian, and controversial, works: Walden 7, a surreal housing complex located close to Barcelona.
