A postcard from the cracked attic window of a Hollywood chateau, battered by desert wind in a land once touted as America’s next great city, reads ‘Greetings from Laurel Canyon’. The namesake, inspiration and central setting of our latest collection.
Winding, steep suburban streets with names you won’t remember and stories you oughta’. Perched amongst the Hollywood Hills, it was the birthplace of folk-rock (soft-rock by detractors of the day) and the Los Angeles psychedelic scene of the 60’s and 70’s.
We can’t speak for what became of its residents but the legend of Laurel Canyon and its cultural progeny proved a veritable cornucopia of imagery and influence.
